Emerald 19 is an artificial grass tennis surface designed to offer the playing characteristics of a natural grass court all year round. It not only resembles grass in its appearance and offers an extremely comfortable surface for players, but is free-draining and highly durable.
Emerald 19 has a 19mm pile height and density of 21,500 stitches per square metre, which form an optimum combination for maximum life. The greater infill of silica sand stabilises and supports the surface, also making it an ideal multi-sports option for hockey, soccer and other activities.
The 'Thiolon Flex' yarn used in the surface increases wear resistance compared with standard polypropylene and reduces susceptibility to 'matting' and the 'speeding up' of the surface in later life.
The Emerald 19 surface is laid on a base of open-textured macadam to ensure free drainage.
