Emerald 23 is an artificial grass surface designed to offer the playing characteristics of a natural grass pitch all year round. It not only resembles grass in its appearance and offers an extremely comfortable surface for players, but is free-draining and highly durable.
Emerald 23 has a 23mm pile height and density of 15,000 stitches per square metre. The greater infill of silica sand stabilises and supports the surface, making it an ideal option for hockey and soccer.
The 'Thiolon Flex' yarn used in the surface increases wear resistance compared with standard polypropylene and reduces susceptibility to 'matting' and the 'speeding up' of the surface in later life.
The addition of our specialist rubber shockpad underneath the surface provides the desired ball-bounce characteristics necessary for a variety of sports. This seamless in-situ polymeric rubber shockpad also offers a greater degree of player comfort and safety.
The Emerald 23 surface and shockpad is laid on a base of open-textured macadam to ensure free drainage.
